Etter endt arbeidsdag på torsdag konkluderte vi med at vi var litt for trøtte til å kjøre helt fra Oslo til Vangrøfta i ett strekk. Vi besluttet å mellomlande hos Lars og Anita på Rena Fiskecamp og ta ei lita kveldsøkt i Renaelva. Som vanlig var fisken aktiv, og stoppen resulterte i et par fine ørret, for ikke å snakke om noen sårt tiltrengte timer i ei god seng, og en god tjuvstart på fisketuren.
Fredag morgen, vel fremme i Dalsbygda, kunne vi raskt konkludere med at vannstanden var lav, elva var glassklar og vanskelig, men fisken og insektene var på plass. Vi fant pen fisk som vaket villig på små- og mellomstore døgnfluer; aurivilli, siphlonurus og baetis. Riktig nok var det en interessant og takknemlig insektsmeny, men etter et lite regnskyll rundt klokka 13 kom det noe langt mer spennende nedover elva, som for oss ikke trengte videre introduksjon. Ephemera danica, den største døgnflua vi har i Norge, hadde begynt å klekke.
De påfølgende dagene var vær og forhold svært variert, med tidvis kraftig vind og intense regn- og haglbyger, påfulgt av timer med glassklar, stille elv og 7X-forhold. Hele spekteret i løpet av noen timer. Men danicaen viste seg fra sin beste side og bestemte seg for å ta turen opp fra elvegrusen i store mengder. Det klekket til tider så mye at det var helt umulig å få fisk, med lite mer enn et par centimeter mellom de nyklekte fluene, og en solid mulighet for å gå tørrskodd over elva på et teppe av nyklekte, bleke, store, gule fluer. En real teppeklekking, i ordets rette betydning.
Det ble landet et solid antall fisk, hovedsakelig mellom 6-7 hekto og 1,5 kilo. Samtlige spreke, gule og finprikkede, i en upåklagelig kondisjon. Og det ble stiftet bekjentskap med noe enda større, men som i alle gode fiskehistorier er det disse som slipper unna. Vi prøver igjen til neste år.

Today we launch our website, webshop and a new short film!
It has been a great few months for us. We have launched our first full length film and we are overwhelmed with the great feedback and encouraging comments. Close to 30 000 people have seen our film!
